The mission of the City of Loudon Volunteers In Police Service (VIPS) is to provide
a helping hand to senior residents by providing non-enforcement services, allowing
sworn officers to focus on their primary mission of crime prevention and enforcement
of state and city laws.

Police Volunteers receive training in:
Orientation and Organization
Crime Prevention
CPR and First Aid
Introduction to Law Enforcement
Defensive Driving
Patrol Procedures
Traffic Control
Radio Communications
Basic Report Writing
Volunteers also complete one ride-along with a Police Officer.
Qualifications and Requirements
18 years of age or older
Good moral character
Good driving record
No felony convictions
U.S. Citizen
Pass a Background check
Valid Driver's License
Good people skills
Wear provided uniform
Attend monthly meetings
Have at least 2 volunteers per vehicle
Have at least 16 hours per month
Maintain positive attitude
Enjoy your time
Present a professional appearance at all times
