Chief James C. (Bear) Webb



Chief Webb is a lifelong resident of Loudon, Tennessee and a 1980 graduate of Loudon High School. He has a degree in Police Science Technology from Roane State Community College. Webb is also a graduate of The University of Tennessee’s Southeastern Command and Leadership Academy.

Chief Webb began his law enforcement career with the Oliver Springs Police Department in April 1982 where he worked as dispatcher, records clerk, jailer and patrol officer. In November 1982, he became a night shift patrol officer with the Loudon County Sheriff’s Department. During his time with the sheriff’s department he graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy at Donnellson and became a state certified police officer in March 1984.

Chief Webb came to the City of Loudon Police Department in November of 1988. Since that time he has served as a patrol officer, patrol Sergeant, Training Officer, SWAT Team Commander and Criminal Investigator. While serving as Training Officer he was elected as East Tennessee Vice President for the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Officers Association. He was promoted to Police Chief in March 2004.
